JGCO COVID-19 UPDATE
Creative Outlet family, friends, love ones, supporters and art lovers,
We hope that you all are in good health and staying safe. You’re in our thoughts during this difficult time.
All activities are temporarily closed, while our administrative staff and volunteers remain fully operative.
We began shutting down everything as of March 14, following the guidelines from the CDC in New York City Department of Health.
We are assessing and following the impact of COVID-19 and staying up to date on all the information in the community, schools, churches and hospitals, across America and throughout the world.
Programming has been a major part of earned income for CO from the Dance Theater, Young Artists, Culture Arts Program, Arts In Education, to Community Programming and Summer Programming. We anticipate that the effect of COVID-19 will have a huge effect on our budget and income will be drastically reduced for the 2020 year.
We ask for your support to help us to maintain the basic needs of the organization and plan for the future. We thank everyone for having been a part of our journey. Your support today will ensure the longevity of Jamel Gaines Creative Outlet, allowing us to do amazing cultural performances, education through the arts, community out reach, & Celebrate, developing artists and bringing professional work to the world stage.
Our mission is to connect artists and audiences with the human condition of African-Americans, to honor the past, celebrate the present, and boldly reach into the future, with a riveting, innovative and cutting-edge dance aesthetic.
Our teaching artists deliver interactive lecture-performances and workshops to thousands of young people ages
K-12 to help the youth achieve positive social, emotional milestones through creative expression.
Deeply rooted in communities across Brooklyn and beyond, we offer dance theatre programming to children and youth in residential areas deserted by major cultural institutions.
